The last two weeks have been so busy, yet so exciting for me! So many new things to absorb, I don’t even know where to begin!!!
ASHA is quickly approaching. Not only will I be busy with special projects for ProCourse, I will be busy with SmartyEars, attending sessions, meeting up with friends and meeting new people! I also have to prepare my poster session on apps in adult therapy. (Nope, not dysphagia!) I can’t wait for the crazy, hectic, excitement that is the ASHA convention.
My application was accepted for BRSS!!!! I so want to pass the exam and wear that dark blue BRSS ribbon on my nametag at ASHA. Not to mention the extra four letters after my name!! I just spent $300 to take the exam and am trying for October 1, so if my posts are lacking, there’s a reason!
I will begin traveling and presenting for PESI. My presentation, Dysphagia Ramblings from Assessment to Discharge and all the In-Betweens, will be different from most presentations. I am looking to get away from the boring textbook information read to people and create a more hands-on presentation. During the day, we will learn how to assess and treat patients with dysphagia, using our very own “patient.” My first presentation will be the first week of December in North Carolina, then on to Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi in January. I’m so excited and so nervous all at the same time.
I will also be writing several webinars for ProCourse CEUs. This should prove to be very interesting!! I’m finally delving into the world of education. I’m loving every minute of it!
Speaking of ProCourse CEU’s, unfortunately Cindy Barnett will not be able to make it to ASHA, however ProCourse will still be represented in amazing ways and YOU, the attendees will most certainly benefit!! There are many surprises coming your way from ProCourse. You can follow me on Twitter @apujo5 or follow ProCourse @procrseCEUs to keep up with all the amazing information. You can also find information on the Dysphagia Ramblings Facebook page and on the ProCourseCEUs page. Make sure to follow both pages.
I was chosen to be an official ASHA 12 blogger!! That is so exciting! Not only can I share my convention experience on here, it will also be on ASHASphere.
Ok, last but not least, Dysphagia2Go, the app that I co-authored is getting an update. The update has been submitted to Apple, pending approval. The update includes the cranial nerve section, added information to the chart review, text boxes to add your own information in sections and more!!! I can’t wait to see the new look of the app and the new look of the printed report. The best news is I have 5 codes to give away!!! To be entered into the drawing, which will be on Monday, Labor Day, you will need to comment on this blog post. You can also earn a second entry by leaving a comment on my website, Dysphagia Ramblings.
Until next time, Happy Rambling!!
