I’m wondering if you could give me some help, or direction. My dad is 77 years old, and close to 20 years ago was treated for throat cancer with intense radiation only, no surgery or chemo therapy. Within the last year and a half his swallowing has become compromise to the point where he has had two severe bouts of aspiration pneumonia. He is currently on a peg tube for total nutrition with nothing by mouth. We are concerned about the nutrition that he is getting from a can, and also just dealing with life without eating is very difficult. He is totally functional in all other ways. We live in Iowa, and he was treated at the University of Iowa hospitals under Dr. Harry Hoffman. I don’t know where to start in my research or desperation to help him. I appreciate any information or direction that you would give me.
